Online Access for Courses - ANU
Wattle, email, Zoom and a range of tools are used for learning and communication within courses at ANU. ANU email Every student and staff member at ANU has an ANU email address, as part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite, which also gives access to other Apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. It is expected that you will use your ANU email address whenever you need
Remote login - COMP1730/6730: Labs - Programming for Scientists
Using the RSCS Virtual Environments. RSCS offers an option for virtualizing its standard environment on your own computer. Overview. The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) allows you to run a standard RSCS Ubuntu Linux desktop on an ANU server with the desktop visible on your home computer as if it were running locally on your computer. This method expects a good internet connection to ANU.

Information for international students return to Australia
The Australian Government has removed international border restrictions and quarantine requirements for international students that are fully vaccinated with a TGA-approved or recognised vaccine and hold a valid student (subclass 500) visa to enter Australia. Please refer to the COVID pathway to 2022 p age for more information.

What to do if campus lockdown?
In the event of a campus lockdown, if you are approved to remove IT equipment from the office, please register the equipment in the Equipment Register Form, please note you will need to take personal responsibility for this equipment – including safely removing, carrying and installation in your home. Approval will be given by your College Dean or Service Division Director.

Can you deploy new equipment remotely?
For staff working remotely, de ployment of new equipment is by appointment only. You will be contacted by ITS staff in advance to schedule an appointment. For any hardware related issues, please log a ticket through the Service Desk Portal as normal, and arrangements will be made.
What is ANU OneDrive?
If you are unable to access existing file shares ANU OneDrive is the University’s approved Cloud based file sharing platform. CloudStor can be used for research collaboration.
How many bulk requests should be sent to the Service Desk Portal?
If additional access is required each team should send ONE bulk request for all staff members to the Service Desk Portal.
How to access ANU email?
You can access your ANU email account from any computer connected to the Internet by logging in using your ANU ID and password. To log into your ANU email account via the web (or any shared resource connected to the internet), visit https://outlook.com/anu.edu.au.
Do students have to use email for ANU?
Staff and students must use their ANU email account for official University communications. In the event that communication is received by the University from ANU staff via a non-ANU email account, it is recommended that a response is sent to that person identifying the risks inherent in this action. A recommended response template is available on the ERMS.

What is ANU remote access?
ANU provides a remote access service for ANU Partners, visitors or contractors (an ANU Partner is a VaHA/Contractor/Vendor/ or POI) on request via the University Systems Access Request form which includes the business reason for the access, with the support of the area supervisor. Note: Cisco AnyConnect has now been decommissioned. To gain remote access you will need to install GlobalProtect.
