Must not have been on forums for major US companies then. Ubisoft, EA, Blizzard, Square Enix,.. all of these places censor (as far as language goes) all the time. In fact, Ubi's one of the most strict.

Just because they "can" do that by law does not mean that it's common sense to do that. Restricting people who post things will not do any good for your company. In cases of EA I can see that they wouldn't care, most people who play games hate them already so nothing to lose, same with Ubisoft but other than that it's just dumb.

I remember certain spammy actions in other games leading to disconnects as well. Maybe gameguard or the game client itself has some sort of rate limit in place to prevent some jerk from spamming invites during <insert content here> to try and trip someone up or just general harassment.

I do not think that that is a thing that should exist. There are many better ways to prevent somebody spamming pretty much anything and knowing how well the game functions I do not think it's a far stretch to say that that is a bug. And if it isn't it's a bad design choice...
