How do I get a referral to the ER at CHKD?
For referrals to CHKD’s trauma service, emergency department, NICU, PICU or general inpatient unit, please call our Transfer Center at (757) 668-8000 or toll free at (844) 480-8000. The Transfer Center also facilitates communications for after-hours referrals to CHKD’s Emergency Department.

CHKD offers all admitting and referring physicians access to eKiDs PowerChart, which gives secure, remote access to their patients’ data in real-time. Providers can customize viewing preferences according to their specific needs.

Masking Still Required
Even though we have made progress in the battle against COVID-19, the CDC and VDH still require that everyone wear a mask inside healthcare facilities. That includes all CHKD Health System locations, including our health centers and physician practices. As always, children under the age of 2 and those who cannot wear a mask safely are exempt.
Urgent Care Hours
Effective until further notice - Due to increased demand and wait times, patients must arrive at a CHKD Urgent Care center prior to 8 p.m. to be seen. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please note: CHKD Urgent Care centers do not offer rapid COVID-19 testing.

What is two-factor authentication?

Healthcare organizations and institutions are fast becoming the target of criminals within the cyber world. The two-factor process provides an additional assurance that unauthorized users will not have access to your data or the health system.
How does two-factor login with Imprivata Confirm ID for remote access work?
Imprivata Confirm ID for Remote Access provides users with a quick and efficient method for accessing the CHKD network from a remote location such as your home.
Who is required to use two-factor login with Imprivata Confirm ID?
All individuals who access our network remotely are required to use Two-Factor Login. As a reminder, Two-Factor Login only impacts you when you are logging in from outside of the network.
How long do I have to respond to a "push" notification on my phone?
You will have 30 seconds to respond to a push notification, choosing an “Accept” or “Deny” option. If the timer expires you will then have the option to enter the token ID that appears within the Imprivata mobile app.
What happens after enrollment?
When attempting to login from an outside network, such as your home, you will see a prompt after entering your username and password. This prompt will indicate that a notification has been sent to your verified device and request authentication.
Do I have to use two-factor when at work?
No. Two-Step Login with Imprivata Confirm ID only impacts individuals when logging in remotely (off-site).
