Why is the college offering remote access to computer labs?

To help students in the College of Health and Human Sciences access specialized software required for completing their coursework while university classes are virtual, the college has enabled remote access to several college computer labs.

How do I get a CSE classroom account?

Current CSE faculty can submit an account request via email to csehelp@umn.edu. The following computer classrooms and labs are available to all current College of Science and Engineering students. Civil Engineering 230 features 43 Windows computers.

How do I access the computers in the labs?

The computers in these labs are available 24/7 and can be accessed from a Windows or Mac computer with a current operating system and an internet connection. Please note that the CSU Pulse Secure VPN client must be installed and connected before accessing a computer.

How do I connect to the CSE computing environment?

Once the PulseVPN is setup, you can follow the below methods to connect to the CSE Computing Environment. Faculty, staff, and graduate TAs can access their office computers via Remote Desktop; commonly referred to as RDP or RDC.

Navigate to /home/ugrads/#/username , where #: first letter of username and username is your CSE account username (For eg: if your username is 'test' and you are an undergraduate student, the path is /home/ugrads/t/test. This is your home drive.

If you need to move files between the lab computer and your personal computer, your university OneDrive account can be used to upload and download files through a web browser. You can access OneDrive through the Office 365 Portal at https://portal.office.com and signing in with your university Office 365 account (ename@colostate.edu and eID password).

The CHHS Helpdesk is available to help by emailing chhshelpdesk@colostate.edu or submitting a ticket on the CHHS Helpdesk page.

Can you access CSU Pulse from a computer?

Please note that the CSU Pulse Secure VPN client must be installed and connected before accessing a computer.

Will I have access to the lab printers?

With the university’s classes and operations moving to virtual, printing to lab printers is not available .
