Zero-knowledge means that only you can access your data—neither Dashlane nor a hacker can see the contents of your account.
Using Dashlane without the browser extension
If you are against the installation and usage of our browser extension, you can always access your Dashlane account and all your data in our web view at app.dashlane.com. However, note that this will not allow you to use the autofill feature and you'll have to rely on copy/paste or manual typing to access your online accounts.

How to increase security on LastPass?
An easy way to increase the security on your Dashlane or LastPass database is to add a second authentication factor, 2FA. Something like Google Authenticator, Authy, Yubikey, or several others give a significant increase in the security of your password database. Coupled with a high number of encryption rounds (I think the standard for LastPass is 5,000), your passwords are quite secure. Also, the host never sees any of your data in the clear; your passwords are encrypted on your device before anything is ever sent to the remote cloud store, and only decrypted on your device when you unlock the account.
