Why choose the mastercycler ® X50 PCR thermocycler?

The new Mastercycler ® X50 elegantly combines speed, flexibility, and ease of use. With its intuitive touch screen offering precise fingertip control, the MC X50 PCR thermocycler enables easy PCR optimization in advanced molecular biology research and dependable standardization in routine PCR applications. It is also perfectly fitted for NGS.

Can I transfer data from an older Eppendorf mastercycler to the X50?

As the Mastercycler uses modern user interface and software structure, transfer of data from older Eppendorf Mastercyclers is not possible with the Mastercycler X50 Software version below 1.0.20.0. All Mastercycler X50 variants with Lot no. H298990L and higher will come with software V1.0.20 installed.

How many mastercycler X50 devices can be connected in a network?

Up to 10 Mastercycler X50 devices can be connected in a device-controlled network while up to 50 Mastercycler X50 can be connected in a PC-controlled network. 2D-Gradient is a 2-dimensional gradient technology that allows two gradients in the same run.

What is a Mastercycler X50?

Mastercycler X50 PCR thermocyclers have a 2D-gradient function that means you can simultaneously optimize both the denaturation temperature (bottom to top) and the annealing temperature (left to right) - see the example of β-actin gene PCR optimization.#N#Higher denaturation temperatures can increase specificity while lower denaturation temperatures can increase yield, so with the MC X50 PCR cyclers, you can quickly determine the conditions for both optimal yield and specificity. This saves PCR optimization time, is a great benefit in low target copy number and GC-rich target applications, and is really useful in troubleshooting non-specific amplification issues.

How many units can the X50 control?

X50 with Touchscreen can control up to 9 other units (connected cyclers do not have a touch screen interface)

What is the MC X50?

How to connect an eco device to a master device?

One eco device can be connected to a master device directly via an Ethernet cable between the "Cycler ports". If more than one eco devices are to be connected, an Ethernet switch with 100 Mbit to 1 Gbit connection with auto-negotiation is required. Each of the master and eco devices should be connected to the Ethernet switch via Ethernet cables from the "Cycler ports".

Does Mastercycler X50 have a password?

Yes, the Mastercycler X50 has extensive User Management functions with three level of user roles: Administrator, User with standard rights and User with restricted rights. The user accounts can be protected via Password or PIN system.

What is Flexlid concept?

flexlid ® concept allows use of all types of consumables with automatic height adjustment of the lid

Can a Mastercycler Nexus Eco be connected to a Mastercycler Nexus?

A Mastercycler nexus eco can only be connect to any Mastercycler nexus control unit. Mastercycler pro units can only be connected to other Mastercycler pro units. The two different models are not interchangeable.

Is the Mastercycler Nexus quiet?

With many different instruments in the lab, noise levels can easily become too high. The Mastercycler nexus is a whisper quiet PCR cycler. Low noise levels make working in your lab more pleasant and enjoyable – particularly when you’re thinking about how to achieve your next big breakthrough!

How to open a thermoblock?

Open the heated lid in one go as follows: Flip the lid handle up over the heated lid and flip the heated lid up at the lid handle as far as it will go. WARNING! Biohazard when tempering with the heated lid open. When tempering with an open heated lid, the lids of the reaction vessels can spring open. This will release sample material. Only temper with a closed heated lid. CAUTION! Risk of burns on the thermoblock, heated lid and reaction vessels. The thermoblock, heated lid and reaction vessels reach temperatures of over 50 °C very quickly. Wait until the temperature of the thermoblock, heated lid and reaction vessels is below 30 °C. Then open the heated lid.

How to install Mastercycler Nexus?

Installation Mastercycler®nexus English (EN) 30 1. Position the devices next to each other. 2. Fold out the bracket of the device on the left . Insert the bracket into the recess in the housing of the device on the right . 3. Align the devices attached to each other in parallel.

What is flexlid thermoblock?

F flexlid The heated lid of the thermal cycler automatically adapts to the used tubes or plates. This always ensures that a reliable pressure is applied to the thermoblock and that the tubes are sealed securely. Unlike conventional heated lids, they do not need to be manually adjusted. T Thermal Sample Protection When the heated lid is being heated, the thermoblock is actively maintained at a constant temperature. This minimizes non-specific annealing and evaporation of the samples. Triple circuit technology The thermoblock is controlled by three independent control loops. This is necessary to produce temperature gradients and leads to improved temperature homogeneity.

Why is a cycler biohazard?

Biohazard due to unsuitable reaction vessels, plates and lids. Unsuitable reaction vessels, plates and lids will get damaged in the Cycler. This will release sample material. Only use reaction vessels, plates and lids that meet the requirements specified in the operating manual.

What does Fig. 2-1 mean on a Mastercycler?

Fig. 2-1: Warning symbols on the Mastercycler 1 Burns due to hot surfaces . If the heated lid is open, you may suffer burns when touching the thermoblock and the hot plate. Do not touch any hot surfaces. 1

What are the risks of using a Mastercycler Nexus?
