All pupils can install office 365 onto upto 5 devices to support home learning.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a collaborative workspace for sharing files, information and messages. Faculties are uploading a wide variety of lessons, homework tasks and resources for the girls to access via Teams.

Extension Work

The page ' Beyond the Curriculum ' contains a variety of extra activities to complete at home if the set work has been completed or if pupils want a further challenge. Extra Maths learning can also be completed through the online Maths platform MathsWatch, which all Fairfield pupils have logins for.

What features will SchoolGateway enable me to access?

The app shows the same information as the website PLUS you can send app messages to the school for FREE – this will also save the school money when we send text messages.

What is SchoolGateway?

School Gateway is the parent portal (app and website) made by Schoolcomms, that provides a single point of contact that allows parents to receive messages, pay for items including school meals, conduct reports and other information about your child from school and react to those notifications free of charge.

A number of events, delivered as part of the school’s careers and progression programme will offer providers an opportunity to come into school to speak to pupils and/or their parents/carers.

Student Support and SEND

At Fairfield High School for Girls, our aims for pupils with SEND are the same as for all pupils. Rooted in a deep history of educating young women, our curriculum challenges and inspires and is underpinned with the principle of “outstanding progress for all”.

SEND Faculty Staff

We are extremely fortunate to have a qualified and experienced staff working in Student Support who are able to support both pupils and staff across the wide area of Special Educational Needs.

"Students with special educational needs or who are disabled make outstanding progress as a result of highly effective, targeted support. The staff know all the students well and monitor their progress closely. Where a student is underperforming, interventions strategies, such as one-to one literacy support, are put in place.

Extra-Curricular and Enrichment Activities

Student Support is open to all pupils every lunchtime. During this time, pupils can access support with their home learning and access a computer and printer. A quiet space for a small number of KS4 pupils to work in is also available.

Admissions

The admission arrangements of the school provide for the admittance of pupils with respect to the published criteria regardless of SEN or disability. Pupils with sensory impairment, learning difficulties or most medical conditions are catered for.

Learning and Teaching

All pupils, including those with SEND, experience quality first provision in the classroom, resulting in a high quality education for all. Staff have regular training on effective differentiation. Staff are made aware of pupil’s additional needs and employ practical strategies to support pupils in lessons.

The Local Offer website from Tameside Council, brings together a range of support services and information for children and young people aged 0-25, with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Here you can find information and advice to support children and families with SEND.
