If that’s the cause of the Error: Connect econnrefused – connection refused by server error, simply disable the firewall and anti-virus software on your computer and try to reconnect.

Re: access is denied when connecting
That error message is not from FileZilla Server. In other words, you do have a malicious router and/or firewall that is actively sabotaging the FTP connection. Please uninstall all firewalls and plug your computer directly into your modem, thus bypassing your consumer-grade router.

Please check that you have write access to the directory the file should be uploaded into. Furthermore, make sure that you do not run in some kind of quota. Eventually, try another FTP client just to make sure it is not some issue with the server/your user account.

This is the problem. I used to have write access to the directory but recently I haven't been able to access it anymore and I cannot figure out why all of a sudden I'm being denied permission. Can the system do that if I'm the only one who's been using it for the past year?

Can you please enable "Show raw directory listing" in the "Debug" settings and raise the log level to 3 and restart FileZilla Client. Then, connect to the server, and try to upload a file; the message log should contain the error. Attach the message log to this issue.
