Why is my Folding@home client not working on a remote machine?
The actual Folding@home client on the remote machine would not be affected, but the system running the fah-control GUI itself could be affected. If you currently perform the manual steps described and may be affected, we recommend you update to client version v7.6.20 or later. These versions have the fix applied and are no longer affected.
Can I manually manually configure Fah-control to manage remote clients?
It is also important to point out that manually configuring fah-control to manage remote clients is not recommended when used over an untrusted network. If you need to do this remotely over the public internet, we recommend using a VPN or similar method of extending a trusted network between two locations.
How does folding work on the Stanford server?
Couple of important points. Even on your local machine Folding is divided between two parts. The Server which manages folding the Work Units (WUs) downloaded from Stanford and the Client that allows you to Configure, Monitor and Control the Server.

I got a second computer going in the basement, and I'm trying to add it to my main folding computer but the status is stuck at connecting. I thought I did everything correct, but I guess not. I even allowed the port access through my firewall on both system, I think.

Is the client running? The control (what you have there) won’t connect if it’s not. It could also be a bug, mine’s stuck on “updating” but it’s running fine.

Do you have the local subnet added to both the allow remote access fields and have you stopped and started the folding or rebooted since?

The client on the remote (basement) computer has to have the IP of the system your running the advanced control on.

I set the IP addresses like you showed but just the static IP of the basement computer. Let me change it to a range "0/200" and restart Windows on both systems. I'll be back shortly.
