What is the Glasgow anywhere desktop?
The Glasgow Anywhere Desktop provides access to Windows 10 virtual desktops in the cloud. Virtual desktops can be accessed from any device. Run the same programs as you would on campus at your desk, in a computer lab, or in an open access cluster.
How do I work remotely from home as an engineering student?
If you have a work laptop which you are taking home then you will need to request an Engineering VPN account. Once connected to the VPN you will be able work remotely as if you were onsite.
What is Glasgow anywhere desktop?
The Glasgow Anywhere Desktop provides Windows-based remote access using your own device to the same programs, applications, and filestore when you log in to your desktop, a computer cluster or lab PC. You can connect to the desktop through a web browser or using a software client.

To access the virtual desktop double-click an icon. (Use your University email address and GUID password.)
Can remote sessions print to campus?
All remote sessions can print to the University's PullPrint system, so printing can be retrieved on campus.
General University Access

Home Computer Users
If you have a desktop computer at work and a personal computer at home then it is recommended that you setup an SSH connection and use the remote desktop application to take control of your office computer from home. You will need to ensure that your office computer is powered on or there is someone onsite that can turn it on for you.
