Log in with your GVSU email address and password. Once logged in you can upload and download files to your private network storage drive. Windows 10: If you are using a GVSU owned Windows 10 machine, you can access your network data on or off campus without the VPN.

CIS Computing Labs – VPN
Grand Valley’s university IT team provides VPN (Virtual Private Network) computing services to students. VPN services allow users off-campus to connect securely to some University computing resources as if the student were on campus.

How long does temporary guest access last at GV?
Temporary guest access is available to all visitors of the University. From your device, connect to the GV-Visitor wireless network and agree to the terms. Once connected you will receive wireless network access for 5 days after which time you will need to reconnect and accept the terms for another 5 days.
Does GVSU require VPN?

GVSU owned Windows 8 and Windows 10 computers have DirectAccess and will not need the VPN for most off-campus system access. There are a few exceptions where VPN is needed for staff who have high privilege access to GVSU data.

NEVER SHARE YOUR PASSWORD in order to let someone else log into GV-Student WiFi with your account. You are personally responsible for everything that is done on a device that is connected to the network with your credentials.
Do students need to register for GV-GameNet?
Students must register certain smart devices (like a smart TV or smart speaker) and gaming devices (like an Xbox or PlayStation) before they can be connected to GV-GameNet. NOTE: Computers and smart phones should be connected to GV-Student WiFi.
Can I connect my GV gamenet to my WiFi?
Once your device has been registered you can connect it to the GV-GameNet WiFi, no password required. NOTE: GV-GameNet does not support wireless printers or certain smart devices like Google Chomecasts. If you run into any issues please contact the IT Service Desk at (616) 331-2101 or it@gvsu.edu.

STRATUS uses a webpage as a “virtual lobby” that allows you to select the Remote Desktop environments available to you. For classroom/academic use, the environments are determined based upon a student's course enrollment or an instructor's course load.
