Yes. The Honeywell standards require password protection for both compliance and security guidance. The password is actually what Symantec calls a PIN or the Symantec PKI Client PIN. This PIN must be at least 8 alpha-numeric characters and may include non-ASCII characters.

What is the IP address of a security camera?
Note that our WiFi security cameras are not capable of PoE meaning they require a power supply, and the default wired IP address of our IP cameras and NVRs is 192.168.1.108 unless otherwise specified. You may have to alter the configuration of your network to view the camera’s web service, our use the IP Config Tool to locate and change its IP address. How to connect a camera to a network?
Connect the camera to your network using an Ethernet cable, and plug in the 12V DC adapter. Allow the camera a minute or so to power on.
Is it necessary to test the connection strength of a wireless security camera?
It is relevant to test the connection strength at every location you intend to mount a wireless security camera at. It is recommended to not make any compromises when it comes to wireless because it can be troublesome to troubleshoot. This opens in a new window.
How to connect a DVR to a router?
Connect your DVR / NVR to a router with an Ethernet cable. Power cycle your DVR / NVR. To power cycle your DVR / NVR, please power it off and disconnect the power source for approximately 30 seconds. Reconnect, and power back on. If you do not have a connection, connect your router to your DVR / NVR using a different Ethernet cable.
How to check DHCP and IP settings?
To check DHCP and IP settings: In the DVR / NVR Network menu, ensure your system is set to DHCP instead of Static. Restore the Network settings to default in the Network menu in your DVR / NVR. Ensure your subnet mask is not set to 0.
What to do if your DVR is not connecting to the internet?
If you have connected your DVR / NVR to your network router and it is not getting an Internet connection, or a valid IP address , check your Ethernet cable connection, router port settings, or DHCP / IP settings.
What to do if you don't have a connection to your DVR?
If you do not have a connection, connect your router to your DVR / NVR using a different Ethernet cable.
