How do I connect to Imperial work PC using remote desktop?

Download and install the free Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the Play Store. Start the app and select the + icon in the bottom left hand side of the screen to create a new connection. The configuration page will appear. Select Connection name and enter a relevant name like Imperial Work PC.

Access to ICIS (remote working)

There are a number of different ways to login to ICIS depending on what functionality you require.

ICIS self-service (no VPN, RDG or secure access required)

Log in to ICIS Self Service from any device that has an internet connection to access:

What is Imperial College Remote Desktop Gateway?

The Imperial College Remote Desktop gateway is the recommended means of off-campus remote connection. It proxies the connection to your on-campus machine in a consistent and secure manner.

How to connect to remote desktop from anywhere?

Click on the Start button in your desktop toolbar, type Remote Desktop in the search field and press the Return key on your keyboard. Press the Options arrow in the bottom left-hand corner of the Remote Desktop window. Select the Advanced tab and click the Settings button under Connect from anywhere.

Is Remote Desktop Gateway reliant on internet?

Using Remote Desktop Gateway is reliant on a stable internet connection. Poor internet connection will result in a poor connection when remoting into one of the College machines.

Recommended way to access remotely

Remotely connect to your College computer to get access to your H:drive. ICT recommend using OneDrive for Business to save personal files. The College are looking to decommission the H:drive in the future.
