2013: Following a six-week bench trial, Kirkland achieved a landmark victory when the court ruled that Maryland had violated the constitutional rights of students at Maryland’s HBCUs by unnecessarily duplicating their programs at nearby TWIs.

When will Kirkland City Hall reopen?
Kirkland City Hall and the Kirkland Justice Center are currently closed to the public as part of our response to COVID-19 and will reopen on Monday, August 2, 2021. Many city services are available online. Find more information as well as resources for businesses and residents here:
What is the second hearing in Kirkland?
2nd hearing will be an opt-in/opt-out where a Stipulated Order of Continuance (SOC), a contract between the participant and the City of Kirkland is signed. This hearing will also be held online via Zoom. The Community Court operates every Wednesday, except Holidays, between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
