Introduction
Welcome to the Working with Remote Access Technologies Practice Lab. In this module you will be provided with the instructions and devices needed to develop your hands-on skills.
Exercise 1 - Working with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)
Remote Desktop is a built-in remote management tool in Windows 10. This tool allows you to connect to another computer’s desktop using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
Exercise 2 - Administering Windows with PowerShell Remoting
Windows PowerShell can remotely manage a Windows computer by enabling a feature called PowerShell Remoting. This feature can be useful when using a GUI-based tool is not viable due to low network bandwidth situation between two locations.
Exercise 3 - Working with Secure Shell Protocol (SSH)
Just like RDP, SSH is a common method of logging on to Linux systems. SSH, or Secure Shell, provides a secure method of connecting to a remote computer. It is an alternative to non-secure methods, such as telnet. SSH ensures secure communication and protects the integrity of the information through cryptography.
