Remote Access membership
If you'd like full access to our collection and online resources, including postal loans but don't need access to the building then this is the membership for you. With this special offer Remote Access membership costs around £18 a month or £191.25 by annual Direct Debit.

What is a supported membership of London Library?

Members or prospective members unable to meet the full annual fee of London Library membership may be eligible for Supported membership which will normally cover 30% or, in exceptional cases 60% of the annual subscription. Supported members enjoy all of the benefits of full membership.

What do I need to join a UK library?

UK residents requiring temporary membership can join for the duration of their stay (minimum three weeks) by showing proof of a temporary address and identification. To join one of our libraries you need to show proof of who you are and where you live. Two documents are required, one from each list.

How much does it cost to join the London Library?

The Library's 178th AGM took place on Monday, 4 November, and agreed the trustees' proposal to increase the ordinary annual fee by £5 from £535 (£44.58 per month) to £540 (£45 per month) in 2020.

Can anyone use the London Library?

I am a member of the Library. Can I bring a visitor with me? Members are welcome to introduce prospective members to the Library, or to bring a visitor for a short tour of the Library. For fire and security purposes all visitors must sign in at Reception and must remain with the member at all times.

Bishopsgate Library It is completely open to the public with free WiFi, so you can access any of your usual online study resources. They also have free newspapers for you to catch up on all of the local and national news. This is the perfect place for some silent time alone, even if it's for an hour at lunchtime.

What are Library etiquettes?

Keep your conversations to a minimum. Please remember the Library is a quiet study space. Please silence cell phones and do not make receive calls until you are outside of the library. Please keep tables clear for other students and staff that come in.

What time does the library open on Mondays?

Mondays and Tuesdays: 5.00pm-9.00pm. Wednesdays: 5.00pm-5.30pm or 5.00pm-9.00pm when events in the Reading Room are compatible with maintaining member access to other parts of the Library. Thursdays and Fridays: 5.00pm-5.30pm. Saturdays: 9.30am-5.30pm.

How long does a library tour take?

The tours take about 15 minutes and are a chance to find out more about your membership, to get an overview of the main facilities and working areas of the Library, and to learn about the scope of the collection.
