Remote access to all MCW Libraries’ electronic resources, including books, journals and subscription databases. In order to be eligible for a proxy account you must have an official appointment as a volunteer, adjunct or emeritus faculty member. To request access, please complete the Proxy Access Request form.

How do I access MCW Libraries resources from off campus?

MCW Libraries resources are available anytime, anywhere, and on any device. To connect to resources from off-campus, start out at the library's publicly accessible homepage or at any of our LibGuides. If you click a link to a subscription resource, you will be prompted to login to OpenAthens.

Can I get remote access to the library?

Unfortunately, alumni do not qualify for remote access unless you have a current enrollment, employment or teaching affiliation with MCW. Alumni are always welcome to visit the Library in person. On-site users have full access to all resources.

How do I access library resources from off-campus?

How to contact MCW about NetID?

If you have questions about your NetID, contact MCW Information Services at (414) 955-4357 or help@mcw.edu . Children's Wisconsin, Froedtert Health and Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories Staff. Apply for an account in person at the Todd Wehr or Froedtert libraries, or complete the Proxy Access Request form.

When will MCW switch to OpenAthens?

September 7, 2021: MCW Libraries in the process of transitioning from the library proxy server to OpenAthens for connecting to library resources from off-campus. The proxied links on the library webpages and LibGuides will switch to Athenized links in the next few weeks. You can use the same login information for OpenAthens links that you use for the library proxy server, which is the same credentials that are used for MCW email, InfoScope and OneDrive.

How to get MCW library links?

Go to Settings by clicking the hamburger menu/three-line menu link in the top-left corner of the screen. Choose settings. Click "Library links" in the left-side menu. Check the box next to it when it appears in a list. When you run searches in Scholar, you should start seeing Get it from MCW Libraries links.

What is Citrix remotely?

Is MCW available on campus?

While on campus and using the MCW, Froedtert Staff or Children's Wisconsin staff network to access the internet, connecting to MCW Libraries subscription resources like databases and journals is seamless because the resources recognize your IP address.
