When will MCW switch to OpenAthens?
September 7, 2021: MCW Libraries in the process of transitioning from the library proxy server to OpenAthens for connecting to library resources from off-campus. The proxied links on the library webpages and LibGuides will switch to Athenized links in the next few weeks. You can use the same login information for OpenAthens links that you use for the library proxy server, which is the same credentials that are used for MCW email, InfoScope and OneDrive.
How to get MCW library links?
Go to Settings by clicking the hamburger menu/three-line menu link in the top-left corner of the screen. Choose settings. Click "Library links" in the left-side menu. Check the box next to it when it appears in a list. When you run searches in Scholar, you should start seeing Get it from MCW Libraries links.
What is Citrix remotely?

Logging in is easy! Enter you MCW email credentials into the MCW users section on the Proxy Server login page. Other authorized users (Froedtert and CW staff and adjunct faculty) can login with their Library Barcode or Proxy ID.

While using an MCW, Froedtert Staff or CW Staff network to access the internet, connecting to MCW Libraries subscription resources like databases and journals is seamless. The resources recognize that you are on MCW computer's network and grants you access to the sites.

Where to return books to UW?
Books and media, including UW-System and Interlibrary Loan materials, should be returned to Memorial, College, or Steenbock Library book returns located near the entrance to each space.

Subject librarians with expertise in specific disciplines are available for remote consultations. Email is currently the best method to make contact with your librarian. Librarians may choose to then call you or schedule a virtual consultation with you via a web-conferencing tool (e.g. WebEx).
When are UW Madison book loans due?
UW-Madison and UW System book loans have been extended to October 15 for undergraduates and December 30 for graduate students and staff. Some Interlibrary Loan items and equipment may be due sooner. Check your library account for details.
When will the library remove registration holds?
All registration holds from October 1, 2019 to March 13, 2020 have been removed. No new holds are being placed. The Libraries understand if patrons are unable to return items during this time. We understand that this is a special situation, and special considerations will be made regarding late fees.
Can you digitize items at Interlibrary Loan?
Some physical items can be requested for pickup at this time using our Pickup by Appointment service. Other items can be requested for digitization through Interlibrary Loan.
