How can I access Michigan Medicine resources on my computer?

To access internal Michigan Medicine resources, we recommend using our Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) service. For more details on what support is offered for personal computers please read our michmed.org/byod page. At a minimum, your internet plan should run at 5 mbps download and 1 mbps upload.

Provider Portal

Previous “view-only” account users are now able to access the UMHS EHR records through the “ Provider Portal ” secure web portal website. A user's Level 2 name/password credentials are used for access login.

Windows Devices

Mobile and remote technology, or DirectAccess, allows off-campus network access for Windows devices without connecting using a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Mac Devices

Connect to the UMICH VPN to access your home directory and department drives from off-campus. The UMICH VPN is installed on Macs. If you are using the VPN for the first time, you may need to add it to your menu bar.
