What is the Mitel 5000?

The Inter-Tel 5000 system has been rebranded as the Mitel®5000 system. Prior to v3.0, this guide was known as the Inter-Tel Endpoint and Voice Mail Administrator Guide, but is now known as the Mitel 5000 Endpoint and Voice Mail Administrator Guide. Over time, most or all of the supporting materials related to this product line will be rebranded to reflect this name change. Also, the voice mail user guide for subscribers who are using Enterprise®Messaging (EM) or Basic Voice Mail (BVM) has changed from the Inter-Tel®Voice Mail User Guide, part number 835.3205 to Enterprise Messaging, Basic Voice Mail, and Embedded Voice Mail Card User Guide, part number 835.3205.

How do Mitel 5000 systems work?

Two or more Mitel 5000 systems can be connected to form a network, providing a seamless interface between the systems. For example, an Mitel 5000 system in Phoenix, Arizona can be connected to another Mitel 5000 system in Tampa, Florida. System users can place calls across the network to other extensions as if they were in the same building. However, each system can have its own time settings, call configurations, System Speed-Dial contacts, and so on. In this guide, all references to a networkmean two or more connected systems. Each system in a network is called a node. The maximum capacities for networking appear in Table 1 .

What does 9860 mean?

Dial 9860. NIGHT MODE IS ON (or OFF) appears followed by THE SYSTEM IS IN NIGHT MODE, if the system is in Night Mode. If the system is in Day Mode, the display returns to the idle state.

How to clear a network alarm?

1. When a minor alarm indication appears, write down the alarm information. 2. While on-hook, dial 9850(Clear System Alarm) or dial 9851( Clear Network Alarm). 3. Look up the alarm in the Administrator Guide and take the appropriate action .

Can you change hybrid balance on Mitel 5000?

A field technician runs a Hybrid Balance Test to ensure that analog trunks connected to the Mitel 5000 system have the best hybrid balance settings. You can change the hybrid balance setting for individual trunks. Prior to v3.0, you could change options 1-20. For v3.0, you can change options 1-7. See “Programming the Hybrid Balance Option” on page 30 and Figure 3 on page 38 for details.

Does Mitel 5000 have voicemail?

Prior to v3.0, the Mitel 5000 supported BVM, the internal voice mail system, and EM, an external voice mail system. Mitel 5000 software version v3.0 introduces NuPoint Messenger, another external voice mail system. For NuPoint Messenger, go to the Mitel Online Web site (http://www.edocs.mitel.com) for details and documentation about administrator features.
