When will NHRMC require multifactor authentication?

Starting August 13th, 2018 all providers and affiliates will be required to use multi-factor authentication for remote access. To help with the transition, NHRMC is establishing “trusted” sites. This means Medical practices and clinics who access NHRMC’s Epic remotely through https://remote.nhrmc.org are authorized an exception from having to perform Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) while they are at their practice location. The exception is only for the practice network itself. Providers and their staff will be required to use multi-factor authentication when accessing https://remote.nhrmc.org when not at their practice location, and not at NHRMC hospital locations.

What is Citrix Remote Access?

Overview: The Citrix Remote Access website is a portal to allow application access from any supported device. To enhance the user experience as well as provide a high level of security, certain prerequisites are required on the user’s workstation. The following set of instructions give direction on what has to be installed and what settings are required/recommended for Microsoft Windows using Internet Explorer. Most internet browsers come with security functionality that could prevent your Citrix Remote Access portal from functioning properly, or cause annoying pop-ups during your session. Note: Windows 8 users will have to start Internet Explorer from the Desktop not the Metro interface.

myNetLearning

myNetLearning is a NetLearning software used by all staff who work at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. It requires a username and password to access your account. Your login can be either your employee ID or your badge number with password being your year of birth.

NetManager

NetManager is a NetLearning reporting tool for managers to run reports on their staff. These reports include individual and team transcripts, curriculum assessments and tracking staff completions and enrollments. NetMangers can also enroll their learners in classes.

NetLearning Administrator

NetLearning Administrators create and manage education for their departments (i.e Clinical Educators). Administrators are trained to set up courses and classes, exams, run reports and manage learners. Administrators follow particular NetLearning standards and E-learning standards to ensure proper education for their learners.

Annual Education

Mandatory housewide annual education modules are automatically assigned to all NHRMC employees at the beginning of each fiscal year (October 1) and due on August 31. In addition to the mandatory housewide annual education, new hires have additional education requirements to complete within their first 90 days of employment.
