How do I get access to NYU access?
Access is available to all NYU students enrolled in degree or diploma programs, faculty, and staff. Some resource vendors use EZproxy to authenticate that off-campus users are part of the NYU license. If you’ve already logged in to NYU systems, you’ll pass through EZproxy automatically.

How do I get access to the library from off-campus users?
This new URL will prompt off-campus users to login with their NYU NetID and password, and then give them the same access as they would have on campus. Another way to get your browser to route you through the library proxy server (while off-campus) is by adding a "proxy bookmarklet" to your browser.

EZproxy Links

Single Sign On (SSO)
Many resource sites (Elsiever, and ACS for example) can use NYU’s SSO for off-campus access, so you won’t need the VPN or EZproxy.
Troubleshooting
If you are using another NYU VPN, or non-NYU VPN it may not be compatible with on-campus, or off-campus access to library resources.

Is external login a primary means of access?
Home. External Login. This should not be your primary means of access, however it does provide quick access to the portal and other web resources. Because this is using web browser security only, you may experience technical issues while navigating the different electronic resources.

VPN (Virtual Private Network) Access
Instructions on how to download and install NYU VPN. You will need to be logged into VPN to access some resources remotely (e.g. the L: Drive). For a complete list of NYU services that require VPN, click here.
Using Remote desktop
First verify with IT that your desktop office computer has been enabled for remote access. Once configured, your computer will need to stay on for you to connect from home (i.e. do not turn off your computer at the end of the day if you need to remote in later).
