Omni User Type (Cabinet Access Type) is a setting that determines what screens a user will see and what capabilities a user will have at a cabinet. ISMP recommends that facilities define user privileges based on a user’s need to access specific medications or patient care areas. When creating a new user in the OmniCenter, use the Omni User Type to assign access rights and restrictions. Each user type is set up with a list of defined privileges. Some facilities have set up users in OmniCenter so that the Omnicell User ID matches the Active Directory logon name. If this is the case, you can leave this field blank.
