Normal openmediavault users created in the web interface can access the remote shell by adding them to the ssh group. Using PKA for users requires keys to be added to their profile, this is done in the Users section. The key has to be added in RFC 4716 format.

How can I use OpenVPN with OMV?

You can use the OpenVPN as plugin on omv then tunnel to that computer directly. This works but sometimes openvpn doesn't come back on after a reboot. To ensure I have permanent access I actually have a small PC with teamviewer installed that I access to get on OMV.

Can I access my OMV account from a work computer?

Edit: but keep in mind this isn't save at all, it basically opens your OMV for the entire world, better solution would be an VPN access. But accessing it from an work PC may not be possible due to some companies blocking the necessary ports. I already have a domain setup for my home network with subdomains setup for each services web access.

Does OMV remote access work on Raspberry Pi 3?

OMV remote access ? Hey there ! I've recently set up an OMV server on my raspberry pi 3 using the dedicated image and everything seems to work fine as far as LAN use goes. However since I will mainly use this server to backup work projects, a very nice feature would be to to access my files anywhere from the web.

Hi. I have setup a raspberry pi 3b+ server at my house. I used open media vault 5 to setup my network shares. Originally when planning the project I thought I was going to use an OS with a desktop. I was going to use TeamViewer to access the server remotely. Though as I now know. Setting up a NAS on an OS with a desktop environment is annoying.

I found a program called ZeroTier. I was wondering if this could be used to remotely access the NAS.

Migrating OMV5 OS (but not files) from a SATA SSD to an NVMe SSD. Can it be done?

So I have my system all set up on a single drive right now but there isn't much room for expansion. I'm curious if there is a way to migrate just the OS to another drive and keep the files on the original drive. I don't mind reinstalling everything and putting my settings in again.

Move SD to new pi4, no network with firstaid

so my pi4 died. i moved the sd card to another pi4. Understandably, network doesn't work since it's different nics. So I ran sudo omv-firstaid and selected eth0. It did nothing for a while, and eventually threw some errors quickly on the screen. The image shows the last of it. This happens with wlan0 or eth0.
