Popular Engineering Software and Availability
The University and the College of Engineering Technology Services (ETS) offers a variety of software applications and multiple methods for accessing (downloading, virtual access, or remote login) available to students, faculty, researchers, and staff. A list of these resources can be viewed by clicking here.
Virtual Access
The College of Engineering implemented Citrix to provide remote access to virtual desktops and applications without requiring a VPN connection. The “COE” desktop is the primary image available to all enrolled students with a majority of software ( click here to see a list) installed needed to complete engineering curriculum.
Accounts
ETS provides support for creation and reset of CoE accounts, including administrative and lab access, and other requirements.
Remote and Wireless
Engineering Technology Services maintains a secure perimeter around the CoE Network to help keep you and your data safe. Remote access can be provided to internal and private CoE computer systems, servers, and storage via Pulse VPN.
Virtual Desktop and Applications
ETS provides and maintains remotely accessible virtualized desktop and applications.
Pulse Secure VPN
The College of Engineering offers a secure connection method to our network using the Pulse Secure VPN (Virtual Private Network) client. This service requires you to have an active OSU ID and password, as well as your BuckeyeSecure 2-Factor-Authentication set up, please make sure you have them configured prior to connecting.
Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection
Once you have established the VPN connection to the College network, you can proceed to use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection application to log into a specific Windows computer in the College network.
