Thank you for the suggestion. I tested vncviewer1201 at home with great results, however after arriving at the office I discovered that the exact same configuration "Failed to get server address!" I believe this has to do with our office firewall restricting port 5900.

When mouseover the Console button, a live view is possible, but no interaction possible. Is there any other way to interact with the VM directly within the Web GUI without launching an external window (which attempts to talk via 5900~5930) or via VNC app?

You can find a way to do what you want, although perhaps not exactly as you have envisioned it. Since it's obvious that your office firewall allows outbound connections on various other ports, simply find one allowed through and set up your remote connection over that.

Thank you for the reply and great suggestions. I configured my router to translate various public ports to 5900 on my LAN. I tested connection via a VNC app on my phone and connected fine every time.

The fact you asked for a "portable" VPN makes me question something else.

Thank you, again, for the reply. You may be correct about the box being locked down with security software. I have not tried a live CD to verify this. I can verify websites such as Teamviewer are also blocked.

Yup, it's definetely the port being closed. If you look closer at the URL a port statement is in there somewhere. If you look at the Virtualization Station preferences, you can set up the HTML-5 console port.

Thank you for the reply. I believe you are correct about the firewall port closure. I have taken note of the port mentioned after the query string in the URL, forwarded it to the NAS IP as well, with no success. I have even momentarily opened all ports on the router with the same results.

I installed my TS-653A the new firmware 4.2.1 build 1226 website qnap.com, the virtal the machine does not work anymore.
