if you setup myqnapcloud, you could access the download station remotely. you can also access file station as well. or you can setup remote access to a torrent qpkg like transmission, to add torrents remotely as well. Basically a torrent seedbox setup.

RESOLVED: Seemed to be something with the File Station UI. Opening Control Panel -> Shared Folders and unlocking from there worked fine.
