I'm trying to get DirectAccess to work with Server 2012. I have a clean, updated install of Server 2012 with two network cards (one to internal network, one to DMZ). I installed the Remote Access Role which includes the DirectAccess and VPN (RAS) component.

Had the same issue in our lab. We had a GPO that allowed remote server access. This was causing our issue. You can run "winrm enumerate winrm/config/listener" at a command prompt. This will show you the current settings. Look to see if it list them as coming from GPO.

Some prerequested features might have not been installed successfully. You may uninstall the Remote Access role and reinstall it.
