What is the remote access gateway?

The Remote Access Gateway provides employees and authorized affiliates with secure, remote access to applications and systems at the University of Vermont Medical Center. For additional support you can contact the IS Service Center by calling (802) 847-1414.

How do I get help with UVM Medical Center?

See Remote Access Help or contact the UVM Medical Center IS help desk at (802) 847-1414 for help with the UVM Medical Center Gateway, Citrix, or Microsoft Authenticator. Call, Email, Chat, or make an appointment with Dana Medical Library librarians and staff for help with journals or databases, or for help with reference questions.

How do I contact Citrix Remote Access Gateway support?

For additional support you can contact the IS Service Center by calling (802) 847-1414. NOTE: Older versions of the below listed software may not work properly and updating to a more recent version may be required. You now have full access to Citrix Remote Access Gateway.

Go to the Dana Medical Library homepage (https://dana.uvm.edu) and use the links there (e.g. Journals, PubMed, CATQuest).

Log into the UVM Medical Center Gateway in order to access library resources.

What is it? A virtual network connection#N#What does it do? By accessing the VPN, you mimic the experience of connecting your computer to the campus network.#N#Recom mended use: Accessing sensitive data and secured resources. This is not recommended for continuous use. Please review the remote Desktop/LCOM gateway options.#N#How is it used in the curriculum? This is not typically used in the curriculum.#N#How is it used in the research community? Certain data sets are stored on secured network resources; using the VPN you can access these resources.#N#How do you access this tool? Download the appropriate files:

What is a virtual computer?

What is it? A virtual Windows computer#N#What does it do? By accessing the remote gateway you are mimicking the experience of using your office computer on campus.#N#Recommended use: Accessing department and personal work files stored on the L and H drive while working remotely.#N#How is it used in the curriculum? Faculty access files stored on L and H drives. This also permits access to an LCOM virtual computer from a computer that may not be your own (from the hospital, home, etc.)#N#How is it used in the research community? L: drive locations are a common spot to store lab documents, SOPs, data and grant information.#N#How do you access this tool? What is OneDrive for LCOM?

What is it? OneDrive is a cloud-based file storage tool, much like Google Drive or DropBox.#N#What does it do? Files stored in OneDrive can be accessed via the web on any computer by visiting https://portal.office.com, authenticating with your LCOM username and password, and selecting the OneDrive application. OneDrive can also be installed on your work and personal computer (s) and Apple and Android devices.#N#Recommended use: Storage of files for remote access on one or more devices. It also facilitates collaboration by facilitating sharing and collaboration via link. Collaboration is permitted between LCOM, UVM Main campus and UVM Health domains.#N#How is it used in the curriculum? Used by faculty and staff to store and share files.#N#How is it used in the research community? This location is connected to your individual account much like the H: drive is but does not require the VPN connection or the Remote Desktop connection. It is a cloud storage location available with an internet connection. Please keep in mind that you must continue to follow DUAs, IRB approved protocol agreements, contractual obligations and compliance/regulation requirements. This can be installed as an application on your computer or mobile device and is also accessible via web browser at https://portal.office.com, select OneDrive.
