When do remote access servers update?
Windows Updates – The remote access servers are automatically rebooted and have Windows Updates installed the third Tuesday of each month between 4-6am. If you are logged in and have unsaved work you will lose your work. Make sure to save your work, and log off instead of just closing the window each time you use the remote access server.
How many users can be on a remote desktop server?
Availability - There are two Remote Desktop Servers available lcs-vc-ts-stu1.ad.syr.edu and lcs-vc-ts-stu2.ad.syr.edu. It can allow up to 25 logged-in users on each server. Due to limited capacity, Make sure to save your work and log off instead of just closing the window each time you use the remote access server.

How to access a VM from a laptop?
To access your VM via remote desktop from a laptop or home computer, you will need to connect to Syracuse University’s Virtual Private Network (VPN). To do this download and run the SURA (SU Remote Access) tool for Windows and then initiate the Remote Desktop connection.
Can you connect to a VM with a remote desktop?
Once you have set up your Windows VPN connection, you will be able to connect to your VM with a Remote Desktop session. If you have not already, open SURA and log in to it. When your VM is ready, you will be given a computer name to connect to.
