What is access U and how does it work?

Access U is a video portal that allows providers throughout our network to connect and share valuable resources with other providers at University of Utah Health. Instead of having to call, email, or fax another provider to get the information you need, Access U lets you establish a secure video connection online with another U of U Health doctor.

Can HCI access PC?

Some HCI employees need to access their regular work PC from other clinical locations within the U of U Hospital and Clinics system. There are a few ways to do this, but here's a method that will work on PCs or thin clients within UHC: 1. Find out the system name of your work PC at HCI .

Can Citrix remember my HCI username?

NOTE: After successfully connecting to your HCI work PC your HCI PC and username should be remembered by Citrix so the next time you logon, even from another computer or clinical location (or even from home or another location), this information should already be configured inside your CItrix session.

Who Can Use Access U?

Access U is only available to providers who have contracted agreements with University of Utah Health.

How to request virtual visit on MyChart?

If you already have a provider, please call or message them via MyChart and request a virtual visit.

Can a physician conduct a virtual visit?

Our care coordinators can help set up your appointment, then follow up with you if the physician thinks a virtual visit is appropriate.

Does U of U offer virtual visits?

U of U Health specialists now offer Virtual Visits to patients when it is determined to be appropriate. Virtual Visits with a specialist are just like an in-person office visit with a specialty care provider, but can be conducted remotely using the MyChart app or other digital platform specified by the provider. On a secure virtual connection, the specialist can:
