The app works okay when you just want to “glance” at the cameras and use the playback feature. Any of the other features are very hit and miss on function. And by no means, and I do sincerely mean never disconnect/disassociate you’re device from the app/cameras. Because you will never get it reconnected.
Problem
Every time I try to connect to the cameras via my iPhone off my home WiFi network the app simply does not work. They need instructions with a port forwarding subject because everything I read directs me to that. I’ve tried to forward ports in order to see my cameras when I am not home but have failed to do so.

I am using the GW5504N NVR and am unable to remote view anything outside of my home WiFi network. Which ports need to be opened so I may do so. Do I need to change to IP address and port the NVR wants to use as well?

The default ports are 80 and 9000. If you are only using the app to access the NVR, then port 80 (http port) is not needed. For this particular model, you should be able to use the P2P ID to connect. You can find the ID and QR code in the system info page.

I don't have your model but to connect to mine remotely outside my home via a computer, I simply enabled uPnP rather than do the port forward method and it seemed to work fine, have you tried that? The 55 series manual says it supports it understand the network section.

I've been attempting to use both GWCamView and RealView Pro. RealView Pro fails to even connect via WiFi and GWCam View only connects via WiFi. Using my PC I have no issues. IE is not an option on my phone as it is not supported on Android.
