How do I access the Southcoast Health Digital Library?

Search for text in contents, print sections, email sections and export images. To access the book simply click here or access via the Library Intranet Page. Click on “R2 Digital Library” under Quick Links. Full-text access is available from any Southcoast Health computer.

Smart Web paging allows authorized users to page staff, access and administer departmental on-call schedules and look up personnel or department extensions.

Can you access the Smart Web from Southcoast?

Web access to Smart Web is only available remotely. Any attempt to access Smart Web via www.southcoast.org from your Southcoast desktop will be denied. Some remote users may have difficulty opening Smart Web because of their firewall. Contact your Internet Service Provider if you have this issue.

What browsers do you need to access EpicCare?

You must use one of the following Internet browsers to access EpicCare Link: Apple Safari. Google Chrome. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 through 10. Mozilla Firefox 10 and any later versions. On tablets, you must use iPad Safari or Android Chrome browsers.

What is EpicCare link?

EpicCare Link is a tool that provides real-time web access to patient information so you can access patients’ clinical data and communicate with Southcoast Health to provide quality patient care. You can also use EpicCare Link to quickly refer patients to our organization.

When Is It Appropriate to Schedule a Virtual Visit?

While the COVID-19 Pandemic is forcing us all to distance ourselves, your health is important to us. Your physicians at SouthCoast Health advise you to keep your scheduled appointments unless instructed otherwise.

What Do I Need for a Virtual Visit?

There are a couple technological requirements we suggest to ensure you have a seamless experience. Make sure you are using a device with a webcam, microphone and strong internet connection. E.g., a laptop, mobile phone or tablet.

How do I schedule a virtual visit?

Call your physician's office at SouthCoast Health to schedule a virtual visit.

How much does it cost?

Most commercial insurance plans cover virtual visits just as they would an in-office visit, but speak with your insurer to confirm. In advance of the visit, you will receive an email to check-in through a secure online platform. As with any office visit, we will collect the normal copay amount during the check-in process.

What can I expect during my visit?

You will receive an email message before your appointment to complete the required check-in. You must check-in in advance of your visit.

I'm having video or audio issues

There are a couple keys to a successful virtual visit. Consider the steps below if you are having any video or audio issues:

Apple iOS 8 – hCare Access (VDI)

iOS is now supported with hCare Access after updating to the new version of Citrix Receiver in the App Store.

For Employees

Simplified Remote Access (SRA) is a way for employees and vendors to quickly, easily, and securely access the HCA network from outside the hospital. Users will no longer need security tokens to connect to the hospital systems; instead, they will use a 3-4 ID and password.
