How can I get support with remote access to lab computers?

How do I log out of the computer lab computers?

To LOG OUT: Go to the bottom left “windows” icon then and select “Sign Out” Note: The computer lab computers are for CE classes and course work. General Purpose Virtual Lab

To provide flexibility for instruction, the CAES Dean's Office Computing Resources Unit offers a General Purpose Virtual Lab with access to many of the same applications available in the physical Computer Labs.

Azure Class Lab

For classes that require specific resources (hardware or software) in addition to the flexibility of a Virtual Lab, the CAES Dean's Office Computing Resources Unit offers Azure Class Labs with access to high-performance virtual machines (eg. GPU's), specific software dedicated to the class, and more.

1137 PES - Plant and Environmental Sciences

This computing lab is designed for regularly scheduled teaching and training (scheduled classes, workshops, short courses, etc.) and for assigned work associated with those classes.

253 Hunt Hall

This computing lab is designed for assigned work associated with classes and as an overflow lab for regularly scheduled teaching and training (scheduled classes, workshops, short courses, etc.).

Section 1 – Lab Access and Accounts

The Physical Computer Labs on campus in 1137 PES and 253 Hunt Hall are opening for in-person access for Winter Quarter on Monday, January 10th . Physical Lab access is managed through the UC Davis AggieAccess program.

Section 2 – Lab Software

The CAES Physical and Virtual Labs use the latest version of the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, and all the labs contain the same software applications (with a few small exceptions ).

Section 3 – Lab Maintenance

The Virtual Lab will be available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Virtual Lab maintenance will happen transparently in the background, we won’t schedule downtime or maintenance windows unless we run in to technical problems.

Please let us know if you experience any application or performance problems with the Computer Labs. We closely monitor lab performance as the quarter ramps up but your feedback on how the Labs are working for your class would be very helpful.

What are the two labs in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department?

The Civil and Environmental Engineering department maintains two instructional computer labs with workstations providing engineering software for student use: 345 Davis Hall and 541 Davis Hall. The labs may be used by students enrolled in CEE classes.

Where is the lab software icon?

Once you are logged into the lab computer you will be able to use all Lab software, found by selecting the windows icon on the bottom left corner of the lab screen.
