What is the UHS policy on unauthorized access to remote access?

Unauthorized access is prohibited. Usage may be subject to security testing and monitoring. Abuse is subject to criminal prosecution.. Login to remote access to use internal UHS applications such as: Click here to login to Citrix Remote Access. Note: Citrix Remote Access requires a web plug-in.

What is uh VPN?

VPN service is available to UH students, faculty, and staff to help connect to UH computing resources that are not otherwise accessible from your internet connection when off campus. Access to the VPN is granted using your CougarNet credentials.

How do I log in to accessuh?

Recently Applied at UH? If you have not enrolled for the current or the next semester and you have received your myUH ID number, please use the myUH (PeopleSoft) ID tab and use your myUH self-service account and its password to log in to AccessUH. If you do not know the password, please reset your myUH account password here.

How do I access the system using uhapps?

UHapps. Please select the 'Public Computer' option if this is not a machine you use regularly, then enter your User ID below and click 'Submit' to access the system. This is a public computer This is a private computer

What is VPN in computer?

What is VPN? A VPN is a Virtual Private Network. It provides a method for employing encryption to provide secure access to a remote computer over the Internet.

Does CougarNet have a VPN?

Access to the VPN is granted using your CougarNet credentials. There are two VPN services available: The VPN.uh.edu service tends to get the majority of connections. If you encounter problems accessing the VPN. uh .edu, it may be because it is at the maximum number of clients.

Does Microsoft 365 require VPN?

Microsoft 365 is a public cloud-hosted service, and so does not need the VPN. Using your local (home) network printer would not require the VPN. Your normal internet services, like general web traffic, Netflix, Facebook, Google, etc. are public based services and do not require the VPN.

Does UH need a VPN?

Needs VPN: To connect to a UH Desktop system with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) services, you would use the VPN. To connect to an internal campus website, you would use the VPN.

Does AccessUH.UH.edu need a VPN?

AccessUH.uh.edu is a public service and would not use the VPN. The various services connected via AccessUH. uh .edu are all pubic services and do not need the VPN. This includes: Blackboard/Learn, Peoplesoft, etc. Microsoft 365 is a public cloud-hosted service, and so does not need the VPN.

Use of UHS computer and network facilities requires prior authorization. Unauthorized access is prohibited. Usage may be subject to security testing and monitoring. Abuse is subject to criminal prosecution..

Remote Access to Applications

Fill out a request form for remote access to UHS internal applications. Signature authorization from your supervisor is required. Scan or fax the completed form to UHS Data Security - fax number (210) 358-0340.
