Windows: Remote Access Setup
  • Searching "Remote Desktop" from the Windows Start Menu.
  • Select Remote Desktop Connection.
  • Click Show Options.
  • Type your computername.ad.ahc.umn.edu into the Computer field. Example: D2xxxxxxx.ad.ahc.umn.edu.
  • Select Connect.

In order to use remote desktop on a Mac, a VPN connection must be created. A VPN connection can be created by using the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client

HST-Supported Mac: Remote Access Setup

Follow the steps specified above under Mac: VPN Setup. You will then be able to access HST User folders and departmental drives.

Personal Mac: Remote Access Setup
