Direct Access (Staff Only)

Direct Access seamlessly connects your University owned and managed Windows laptop to the University network whenever you are off campus and have an internet connection.

Remote VPN is a self-service function. Download and install the Remote VPN client from https://remote.abdn.ac.uk

Is remote VPN software?

Remote VPN has been tested by IT Services staff on a variety of platforms and operating systems. However, IT Services is not responsible for any software/hardware conflict or failure on personal devices that may occur as a result of the Remote VPN installation. Users who are in doubt should contact the IT Service Desk before installation.

How to access VDI?

You can access the VDI in two ways: via your web browser; by installing the VMWare Horizon client on your computer. Note: The number of users who can log into VDI at any one time limited. The VDI will prompt you if there are no virtual desktops available; you can try connecting again later.

Remote VPN is a browser-based, remote access solution for personal devices (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Windows Mobile, Android).
