What is Veyon demo?
The demo feature allows you to share your (or a student's) screens with all students. This way everyone can watch the screen contents of the presenting person in realtime. There are two demo modes available: In fullscreen mode, all input devices are locked during the presentation.

So this happens to both 4.0.5 and 4.0.6? Did you have problems with previous versions? Do you have another VNC server or remote control solution installed in parallel? Can you try to change some of the VNC server options in Veyon Configurator on the computer being remote controlled?

What is a Veyon network object directory?
As described in the section Locations & computers, Veyon provides a built-in network object directory that can be used when no LDAP server is available . This network object directory can be managed in the Veyon Configurator as well as on the command line. Certain operations such as CSV import are currently only available on the command line. What is remote access module?
The remoteaccess module provides functions for a graphical remote access to computers. These are the same functions that can be accessed from the Veyon Master. The function provided by the command line tool can be used for example to create an program shortcut for direct access to a specific computer.
How does Veyon work?
Veyon offers a variety of features that let you control and access computers. All available features are accessible through the buttons in the toolbar as well as the context menu of individual computers. If you move the mouse over the individual buttons in the toolbar, a tooltip with a short help text is displayed unless you have disabled tooltips.
What mode is Veyon running in?
By default Veyon is running in monitoring mode. In this mode you have an overview of all computers and see their screen contents in thumbnails. The screen content is updated almost in real time, so you can monitor all activity at the selected locations.
How to activate a function on a single computer?
If you only want to activate a function on a single computer, right-click the computer in the monitor view and select the desired function from the context menu. The entries in the context menu are displayed dynamically depending on the active functions.
What is a feature group remote access?
The feature group remote access consists of two very similar features Remote view and Remote control. In both access modes, the screen of a remote computer is displayed in full size in a separate window. In contrast to the monitoring mode in the main window, you can watch the activities on a computer in detail or intervene yourself.
Does the remote control button show current mode?
The button does not show the current access mode, but the access mode that is changed when pressed. As soon as you have entered the Remote control mode, your keystrokes, mouse movements and clicks are transmitted to the remote computer so that you can operate it as usual.
Why is my Veyon configuration not saving?
This can result in settings not being saved or reloaded correctly , such as the builtin location and computer information. In this case the configuration should be reset and rebuilt based on the default values.
How to bypass screen lock?
Screen lock can be bypassed via Ctrl+Alt+Del ¶. To completely block all keystrokes and keyboard shortcuts in screen lock mode, you must restart your computer after installing Veyon on Windows. Without a restart, the Veyon-specific driver for input devices is not yet active and keystrokes cannot be intercepted.
Can access control be incorrectly configured?
An incorrect configuration of computer access control can also lead to computers being inaccessible. Initially it’s recommended to disable computer access control completely using the Veyon Configurator. This allows determining which method for computer access control is possibly incorrectly configured.
Does Veyon require authentication?
When using logon authentication, Veyon requires the operating system to reliably perform user authentications on all remote computers. Especially in AD/Kerberos-based environments, authentication may not work reliably when the system clock is not synchronized with the domain controller or authentication server and differs significantly. Therefore make sure time synchronization is configured and working properly if you encounter sporadic connectivity problems when using Veyon.
Is Veyon available for Linux?
Currently Veyon is only available for Linux- and Windows-based environments. Support for other platforms is being worked on though. The Veyon project relies on the help of experienced software developers, especially for porting Veyon to macOS and Android.
Is ITALC compatible with Veyon?
Although iTALC and Veyon are conceptually similar, a complete new installation and configuration is necessary to use Veyon, since configuration and file formats as well as their paths have changed and are not compatible. For a migration iTALC has to be uninstalled completely first. It is recommended to reboot the computer afterwards.
Is Veyon the same as ITALC?
Veyon can then be installed and configured in the same way as iTALC. While the configuration of authentication methods is very similar, the configuration of locations and computers is done via the Veyon Configurator and no longer in the Master application.
Can you use Veyon Master on multiple computers?
The usage of Veyon Master on multiple computers is possible without any restrictions. For this to work an identical configuration has to be used on all master computers like it’s required for client computers in general. If logon authentication is used no further steps are necessary.

hi, I'm using veyon and it make easyer life in my lab I've still a problem. I have got 27 pc and all works: for example shut down or share a link or file. But I can't log in the 27 pc. It can be very usefull for me because I teach to young children... so they sometimes cannot digit the password :D It says password is not correct...

If you correctly setup authentication you should be able to remotecontrol a single system and log it in from the teacher system. You could even log in all systems simultaneously if the password is the same on all systems. Please read the manual on how to setup it all.

Hi, I can do anything... remote control, send link and file, do presentations and so on. I tested before to use it. But I have a problem with login to the pc.

no problem :) language: italian the password is composed by a name (caps lock on the first letter) and 4 numbers there are not special characters. I tried to write it on a text and it was correct. it can be the caps lock... of the first letter, but it is a simple password... I can try to change the password on a pc... to test what happens.

I think it is the only thing that doesn't work :D but it would be great if it works... as they are 27 pc and I work with very young children (6 years old), that cannot digit the password :)

Are you trying to use the "Login user" feature? If so, please make sure the Windows login settings are configured correctly, see https://docs.veyon.io/en/latest/admin/platform-notes.html#user-login for details.

Not using Configurator, this settings change would be done through Windows group policy at the student computers.
