How do you enable remote access?
Steps to enable allow remote connection in Windows 10:
- Open System using Windows+Pause Break.
- Choose Remote settings in the System window.
- Select Allow remote connections to this computer and tap OK in the System Properties dialog.
How to setup remote access?
Once installed, you can now connect to remote endpoints by following the steps below:
- The software needs to be downloaded on both the local and remote computers.
- Open the software on both the local and remote computers.
- Write down the ITarian ID number and password of the remote computer.
- Click “Start Connection.”
- Enter the ID number and password of the remote computer.
- Click “Connect.”
How do I disable remote access?
- Open Control Panel.

How secure is enabling remote access?
- iOS/Android: Swap album and artist titles in CarPlay/Android Auto.
- iOS/Android: Rare crash if your library had ~200,000 items.
- Desktop: Reduce hover play background size to allow clicking on poster.
- iOS: Crash for high CPU in some cases if server disks were offline.
- CarPlay/Android Auto: Show all albums when album types are enabled.
Off-campus access to e-resources
The library uses a system called EZProxy to provide off-campus access for authorized users from Yale University and Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Off-campus access to physical collections
Current students, staff, and faculty may request to have books, videos, and other collection materials mailed to home addresses in the U.S. using mail-to-address request links in Orbis or Quicksearch. Students in residence may have materials delivered to their on-campus housing.
Research support
Schedule a research consultation via email, Zoom, or phone, or email a librarian directly.
Online collections and e-resources
Find more than 1 billion items (journal articles, newspaper and magazine articles, citations, abstracts, ebook chapters, and reference works) with Articles+. Remove the “Scholarly & Peer Review” and “Journal Article” limits to see the fullest results set.
Find course readings
To access materials placed on reserve for specific courses, go to Canvas .
